In good old "Quaint" Queensland once you have registered a car or ute with a RWC it does not require another RWC until it is sold on, so there many a vehicle in single ownership for 20 + years that could well be so defective as to be a danger to the driver and passengers as well as other road users.I know of a couple that I would not go across the street in but the owners regularly travel the 30Klm to the closest major shopping centre, almost as bad as seeing oncoming truck & dog combos with the driver texting on his smart phone resting on top of the S/wheel at near to 100kph.

I have been known to drive fast and occasionally be a dickhead on the road.......ones teens and early 20s are interesting times. Now im in my 30s i have learned to be a bit more cautious although have only had a few accidents and all but one (being a dkhead while a bit "intoxicated") werent my fault. I honestly believe we dont have good quality driver education in this country and given my experience of driving (done easy million km) i see what flaws we have:
    1. Speed limits are best suited to limit impact momentum and thus limit insurance costs for the government
    2. The above is true because governments are just there to kill all joy
    3. Driver education is a joke.....i mean wtf....... what is a kid to do when they need to avoid something in the wet......how are they to know the dos and donts? More likely then not their parents arent great drivers themselves and pass on some of the lack of skill. Why not make a manditory assertive driver courses that do a test at the end and if you fail you dont get a license.
    4. Harsh penalties for hogging right lane while not passing........this builds up in frustration and results in stupid behaviour from others
    5. Increase speed to something that requires more then an occasional glance to travel to your destination because effectively going too slow results in people wanting to fall asleep and loose concentration which i believe is the biggest killer.
    6. Provide venues with government sponsorship for guys to race their cars.....let them sign wavers and basically have some fun in a controlled environment.
    7. Make all learner drivers start on motorbikes for a minimum of 2 years, i assure you if they come out of it unscathed they are worthy of a metal conffin license

Im sitting here wondering why i typed all this crap.............o well why waste it hahaha

I am beginning to see the full picture. It's a solution to an age old problem.

As creative idea as it is, I'm sure there are easier ways to kill NSW motorists before they infest Victorian roads.

We do however, have a temporary reprieve. Sydney didn't get into the final of the real football. Oh, and South Australia discourages those Perth people from coming over.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm sure our boys in blue will be able to extract many taxes from them on their journey east.
Do you still heave rego labels over there? That's what we got the South Australians on last year.

Perhaps Mick can organize a bowl of peanuts to hand around.

Nah - no rego stickers here either Mick.

I'll keep an eye on the news to see if the big purple bus gets knocked off for that - cause I'll be a couple of days behind them in the Disco.

I'm not going over for the footy though - just passing through on my way down to Tassie.

But I might throw a couple of Dockers stickers on the back windows anyway just to see what response I get over there.

Just have to remember to unplug and hide the radar detector when I head over to the nanny states .......................
    Cheers .........

Uncle, unless things have changed recently, NSW is the only state that requires an annual inspection before registration. There are just as many piles of pus on the road there as elsewhere in spite of the annual stuffing around and donation to the inspection station.

Are covert surveillance detectors permitted over there, or is possession just not enforced?

I was going to buy an Escort combination GPS/radar-laser detector when I was last in the USA but they only have North America maps.
