I sold my Kawasaki ZX12R with Power Comander, full Muzzy system and a litre bottle of NOS in the duck tale. Used to put 208 BHP at the rear wheel and do power wheelies (didn't even have to clutch it up) at 170 in 3 rd . Had a few attempts but never got it passed the magic 300.
This provided the funds for a twin turbo Subaru liberty 1997 awd for a few years.
The liberty was sold to buy the discovery because My wife wouldn't sell her commodore to buy it as she didn't like the look and at the price it was being offered I was never going to let it get away.

Thoroughly worth it, and the wallet is definately more appreciative when we cruise by the cops at the designated speed limit.

The hoon is still there, just in hibernation.

[QUOTE=Standard Clevo? FC or FE? [/QUOTE]

It's technically a Clevor - Windsor block with modified Clevo heads and a BA Ford Performance 'Street Boss" manifold. This engine in 302 form was the original Boss Mustang around 1969. Sits in front of a modded Ford AOD tranny (Ford Automatic Over-Drive - like a FMX with an overdrive gear for touring). It started out as a 1983 injected 6 FC LTD..... just wanted a car that looks like a grampa car (well I AM a grandpa) but goes like schtick.

I must ask, does an Autech Stagea pass as a Family Looking station wagon?

This person you speak of still into karts?
Yep, my bad, Scandinavian flick is the correct term, was written in haste at morning tea time

Naa, said person finished kart racing in '89, hasn't sat in a race car since, hell, when was Amaroo closed ? and is well, well on the wrong side of forty, or even older if they were brutally honest......

FWIW a really nice RX2 Capella and RX4 came through our little town yesterday.

You can't mistake the cackle of a decent Rotary, although I couldn't tell the difference in sound between a bridge ported or Peripheral ported version, never been into them but do appreciate them.

I used to own one of these but mine was a wolf in sheep's clothing with a full race engine and gearbox in it. It was put together by a rally driver and his mechanic as a challenge, they certainly succeeded as it was the most ferocious little car I've ever driven.

I sold it to an enthusiast who's little brother took it out and blew it up

    I let mine out occasionally....

usually when its wet because its easy but juuust occasionally we get a rice boy in the workshop who needs a hand and they let "the landy guy" do some test driving, it'll be good for a laugh, he drives so slow its too much car for him....

of course Im also not totally immune to letting the all wheel drive and good suspension clearance of the wifes disco soak it all up while I pull 3rd at peak torque around some of the local areas while ricers have to slow down or risk understeering out or taking body kit damage.

I should have seen my future 4wding when I got a ticket for 80 in a 60 zone over a speed hump in a first car (rice rocket!). Actual speed was more like 90 too...

Today I take things a lot easier, but still get huge laughs when the hoon sitting on my rear bumper grinds off the front of their bodykit trying to follow me over a speed hump.

Just a big lazy 5-6 litres rumbling away up front...ya can see the bonnet rise, with just a touch of the throttle, with all that low down torque, & the sound of a big V8, working hard, with a nice exhaust system....well, it's pure heaven for me!
Yep, always loved 'em, I grew up in the golden age of American Muscle, & whilst I've never owned an American Muscle Car, if I could, it would be a Dodge Challenger 426 Hemi R/T. Now that is the absolute ultimate.....For Me.
Does anyone remember the original "Vanishing Point" C1970, starring Barry Newman (Petrocelli!) & the Dodge Challenger?....Now THAT was a good car movie.
    Cheers, Pickles.
Same here mate - still love a decent V8. The rotary's might go like the clappers, but they can never match the sound of a big lumpy V8. A Dodge Charger or Challenger are also amongst my favourites.

Some of the Merc V8's these days sound alright too - heard a really sweet sounding AMG version booting it away from the lights on Stirling Hwy in Nedlands the other day ............... very nice music to the ears.
    Cheers .........
