Sorry mate, I've never replied to a comment like this before, so I can't help.
Imagine if your theory worked in verbal conversations:
Person 1: " Hi mate, how have you been lately, hear about the weather in QLD?"
Person 2: ......
Person 1: "oh you must not have anything relevant or helpful to say, so I understand why you have remained quiet"
I think a lot of community based posters on forums just
like to feel involved and 'chatty', so even though they have nothing to say, they would like to say that they don't. This indicates they are not only following what the original poster had to say, but is thinking about the topic itself, and referring to the fact if they normally comment a lot on certain topics that it may be directed to them, and are identifying the fact they don't know, and aren't being rude by not answering.
Anyway, who is taking what people write on the internet as gospel?
Did you know that 97.6% of statistics posted about on forums are false and misleading?
