According to the RFS site, his street has been affected by the fire so let's hope he & his family are OK.

looking here the area of the lithgow fire is huge, will look different next time we are up there.

btw, if any members up that way need a hand now or in the coming weeks shout out as sure many of us on here would be willing and able to assist.
i even have some furniture/bedding items keen to donate if anyne knows of somewhere needing them.

A chap on my floor is the fire captain for Winmalee RFS. Feedback i heard today is 100 houses lost in the district.

I have no appreciation of losing everything you work your arse off for in such a tragic event.

I endorse Yorkie's sentiment. The smallest of items donated can be the start of a new life for these poor people. Instead of having a spring clean have a spring donation.

MLD, do you speak to the guy much? Maybe he has some contacts in the area?
From experience Salvos and the like prefer cash in these instances and not keen to take goods.

Thanks mate, just got back online...9 houses gone on my little dead end street including the neighbours. I was on my own, the firies were just stretched to the limit and didn't even know our street had gone up it was so quick. I have singed hair, smoke inhalation and it feels like my eyes are burnt but the house is still there. No family could get through the road blocks to help...not that I would want them in the situation. I'm knackered beyond belief.

Mike, We and I am sure all our AULRO community will be so very thankful your home survived. So many others were not so fortunate, sadly.

Watching the footage on television throughout the day was unbelievable.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to all those who have lost so much ......I cannot begin to imagine what it must be like to see your home , your memories, everything you have worked for...just gone.....so very rapidly too.

Keep up your spirits Mike.....our thoughts are with you .

NSW have put their hand out. CFA, MFB and CFS have been deployed.

Vic firefighters deployed to NSW - Country Fire Authority - Country Fire Authority

Bright Tanker on the right. Can pick it a out in any strike team by the amount of crap on the Dash. I got a page at around 9.30 this morning to be deployed to Sydney leaving station at 1100 but I was two hours from home. Best of Luck

Glad you're OK Mike. Sorry to hear about your neighbours - I hope nobody was hurt. Let us know if you need anything.
    Cheers,

Thoughts and prayers with you all.

Well done Mike, you're a braver man than me!

Glad to know you're all safe.
