Thread: Can anyone help out?

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this thread, if not can one of the Moderators please move to the correct location.

I've not really been on the forum much since moving to New Zealand, but do occasionally lurk. But a bit of a bad situation has got me out of my lurkerdom.

A good mate of mine, and fellow member here on AULRO Jezzaol, has recently stumbled on some hard times. He lives in Wimalee and was struck hard by the bush fires there last month. He stayed and fought them and was lucky enough to save his house, but lost his garage with all his tools, stock for his business, camper trailer and everything else you have in a man cave.

Tragically also Jezza had been putting parts away for the past 12 months to do the clutch in his 1999 TD5 Manual Disco. He had sourced a decent low kilometer transfer case, had all the parts needed and was working on saving for the labour content. This was all lost in the fires.

Now to kick a poor guy when he has just been through so much, the clutch on his Disco blew up last week. Bruce Davis from Davis performance Automotive in Annangrove NSW is helping out with the labour content.

Now here is the real kicker and what this post is all about. Turns out that the gearbox is cactus, kaput, knackered, stuffed! So now not only has he lost the majority of his stock for his business, now he has lost his work vehicle also. Jezza doesn't know that I'm posting this here and he is not looking for a hand out. But I'm hoping that someone here may have a decent TD5 5 Speed Manual gearbox sitting around that they are willing to part with for a reasonable price (the cheaper the better )

One I have is from a disco but a V8 so it may not have the same ratios, but it's available.
