    Range Rover - 1, Mitsubishi - 0

So, SWMBO was sitting at a give way sign this morning waiting for a semi trailer to go past, when - all of a sudden, she saw the truck swerve, then a bang, followed by the Rangie ending up in the intersection. Rear ended hard by a young bloke in a Mitsubishi sedan. Lucky the truck driver saw it coming, or things could have been much worse...

Anyway, the little sedan was trashed - mostly due to the towbar hanging out the back of the Rangie. Leaking coolant, it barely managed to limp off the road, where it was towed away - probably to a wreckers by the sounds of it.

The Rangie - well, the rear bumper looks like its gone a few rounds with Mike Tyson, but otherwise it is fine. Yvonne is fine but was a bit shaken up, but drove to work no problems.

For the shunt it got, I am quite surprised at how little damage there is. The panel shop I took it to has inspected it, and quoted the young blokes insurance company, so just waiting on approval from that before it ca be repaired. He confirmed what I thought - bumper, bumper support, one reflector, and some minor paint damage to the tailgate. All cosmetic stuff.

Being a prestige panel shop, the quote isn't cheap - over $5K for that little touch up. The insurance company is being good about it - the panel shop in question is an approved repairer so I don't need more than 1 quote. It was also spotlessly clean - everywhere. No dust, no mess - nothing - very impressed they can keep it in that state. It was full of bruised Mercs and BMW's...

SWMBO is a little sore tonight, sitting back, taking life easy while I cook tea....

No pics unfortunately of the Mitsubishi - Yvonne was a bit shaken up and forgot to get some. I'll take some of the Rangie in the morning, but it only looks scratched and bent like you'd expect.

Took it to Westar Prestige - they are an authorised Mercedes repairer and that is about 90% of their work, but they do all high end stuff, so I'll be happier to take it there than joe blogs panel shop.
