there are a lot of people out there with the skills, its the time that's normally the problem.

The passion is the reason, and possible resale value.

There is no resale value in a 100" hybrid Landrover.
    Ask me how I know.

Hmm willing to fork out at least 13k. Well only because you are a fellow forum member and possibly a good bloke I`ll consider letting you have my ute for a bit less than 13k. All the work done, all engineered, series body on a range rover chassis. Of course letting you having my ute for less than 13k might well be less than what it is worth but I`m that kind of guy that likes to help a fellow land rover enthusiast
Any way seriously now if you want any info let me know. The engineering will cost around $1500. Sons mate is going through the engineering process at the moment with a four wheel drive. Get on board with the engineer right from the start. Best bet if you want diesel is a range rover chassis and a 4bd1 diesel. My ute is a shortened series 3 110" with a 4 link rear and a three link front and the motor is a 4bb1.

Now I know of three 100" hybrids that are "on the market".

What about a d1 dual cab Ute on a stretched 110 chassis (to 130 inches). Start with an 80s 110 and use a 4bd1t.

    Comfort and practicality..

    That has been done before.
    But only once.
Been done with a Sierra too..................

There used to be a Cadillac you'd see on Fraser sometimes back in the day - no idea what i was built on.

There was a builders in Brissie had a 80s Rolls Royce Body on (I think) a Rangie chassis.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

im thinking of a standard chassis, cutting it all the about 88 inches or so, building the cages straight on top of it, tube front fenders etc
Why not use all that skill for good instead of evil (?? )

you could make some 80" front fenders and guards, the earlier single piece ones... and to make sure you feel better I think I could find somewhere to "test fit" them for the next 40 or so years.....

why not build something like a boat tailed sports car (reminicent of 20-30s) and go from there.... like the land rover sports car theyve already done (the one with the huge motor!) But ever so capable!
