If I had any decent pics you would be welcome to them, personally and not intending to debate the reasons but in my life I have learnt that not everything has to involve a payment.

Thats very true....

However (and im not saying this is the case here at all) I bet some people would not feel that way if that photo was taken away and someone made millions from it...and they got NOTHING!

I personally, as some that enjoys photography, don't believe you have to sign away the rights to your own photos at all...

but each to their own and if your happy to do that that's totally cool. but me when I give photos to people for usage I still remain the owner of that photo and make that quite clear as I may wish to use that photo else where....I don't ask for payment just recognition.

Good point Lou. If you do sign away the photo, can you as the original owner still use the pic ??.

Just to clarify you would give DPL non exclusive rights so you can use your own image however you like. Sorry the release is a standard photographer release which would hand over all rights but we are not interested in exclusive rights just the rights to use the image.

Btw I had a vendor subscription for a year to support this great site without ever expecting or having any financial gain from it.

If this was a big advertising campaign or anything substantial I would not post here but have a professional taking the images with everything what is associated with it.

I'm happy to gives pics of my car but if millions of $ would be made of my free image I also would not be happy however that's clearly not the case here. We just need a category image for all models and instead of waiting for a car of each category to come in to DPL and take the pictures (if owner agrees) forum seemed like being worth a try.

We don't force anyone it was just a question, if you know Bruce then you know that him and the Internet don't go well together so I don't think he will join any forum in a hurry, though I will encourage him.

For what its worth I don't think you should have to donate to the forum to ask this question...if you were constantly on here doing so then I reckon thats a bit different...

Thats just my view though...

I have in the past granted people a free licence to use images. People think a photo costs nothing to produce well that is wrong. Quality images require good quality gear that requires $1000's of dollars to be invested. The time spent taking the photo and then processing it has a cost. Travel to sites to do photography costs money.

I thought about this as I have several images that probably would be of use to you.. but then I realised that I make a living taking photographs just as Davis performance makes a living working on these cars and I'm fairly certain that if I asked them for free work the answer would be no.
