1. All Military LR's
1. All Series and forward controls.
1. All Defenders and 90's and 110's.
1. Offroad all Discos and Ranger Rovers
1. On road dirty Discos and Range Rovers.

Is that better?

I think I'll resist the urge to wave as not waving can only cause offence to curry flavoured OZ mums

I love the waving thing

The missus was with me the other day when it happened and she thought I was nuts...well, I am - but this was for a different reason.

I like the knowing smile  you get from other Defender drivers. Like we all have a secret that the rest of the 4wdriving world doesn't know yet. It is a really cool tradition that I hope lives on and can include our more comfortable brothers in their discos and rangies.

I do it but rarely get the wave back. I think I live too close to the city of soddem. Where any gesture of freindship is looked upon with suspicion.

I find over here in WA any Defender/Series will usually wave enthusiasticaly, even in the middle of Perth CBD, outer burbs or further out in the country. Disco's and Rangies tend to be a bit stand offish unless they are the well used type. Then it's the friendy nod or finger lift.

What AULRO stickers are these? I don't like to oversticker my Defender but I have a Keysbrook Burger sticker and a Remote Equipment Repairs sticker (made my beloved seat covers) on the driverside rear window. I'd happily put an AULRO sticker up.

I will wave a Defender. In Perth my experience has been generally pretty positive; a nod or a small wave will elicit a response. One or two shiny new X-treme drivers have not returned a wave or even given any indication that they even notice other Defenders but they may not have seen me - they seem to drive pretty fast. I will say that I have been pleasantly surprised to see younger people driving Defenders and I'm not talking just groovey X-tremes. Seen a couple white 110s with P plates - gives you hope.

I won't wave every series vehicle but sometimes they look so good I have to. I don't wave Discos or Rangies in the city though I would in the country. There are too many of them here in town and I guess they'd be models with the highest non enthusiast ownership.

When I drove up north earlier this year, we almost made it to Broome having counted only 2 other Defenders. But this changed when we arrived in Broome, that place has to be the Defender capital of Australia. I think they must like alluminium trucks for the beach fishing. Counted 30 in two days - most had indications of being local not tourists.

I wave, the other half thinks i am stupid, she will just never understand. I actually got a wave from an early model rangie this afternoon on the way to the movies in Bathurst. Saw oceans 12, the movie was made that much better when a scene opened with 6 shiny black rangies pulling up. Matt.
