I think I just like he attention. Being kiwi, and having owned ladas, jeeps, and now landrovers I cop it all the time but just bite my lip and show everyone up on the tracks.

unfortunately you cant change the opinion of the rest who just don't understand or cannot think for themselves. Here is a typical reply to a post I made on Landyzone about using a Landrover to tour the wild places of Australia.

Quote"agree, also land rover parts are hard to come by out in the bush. you have to get them from Sydney and end up paying 3 fold what you would in the UK. A 200ti engine from a fender used will cost you about $6000-8000 in average condition.
No serious aussies would ever hit the bush in a land rover now. when you get get a land cruiser, which is much better suited, cheaper and 10x more reliable, oh and you can get parts for them anywhere!

I have had a ford now and I was looking at buying a landy, but every farmer I have spoken to says absolutely not! Tomorrow I am making a 1000km journey up north, I can trust that I will have a comfy, not in a land rover.
I can imagine every other one you 'sell' (Landrover)coming off a corner on a dirt track."(unquote)

My cousin would disagree. He had to wait three weeks for the parts to come from Japan. He was only 80km south of Adelaide.

If you're happy with your land rover and you know it, check for oil leaks

Yep I also had parts overnighted to Weipa. The same flight had parts for several Toyotas. Same wait for both from the south and then through Cairns. Bad luck about the guy with a Jeep who had been waiting for a week for parts!
