Owned NOPE... Driven Plenty... see owned.

But I did buy our youngest daughter a Toyota Yaris cause its a cheap small car and the lady was leaving the country and accepted our much lower offer than anything else small was priced at the time.

I have only driven it once, that was enough for me.

Think you need to learn to shop around.

Just because you like a certain make of vehicle doesn't mean you have to hate every other make.Toyota make a great product,so do nissan and mitsubishi. However i just PREFER to own land rovers. They are something special in my books.

As to hatred for the Land Rover it's far & wide. But who cares, I have a Grand Vitara ( hairdressers car) & a Discovery2 ( insert Landy hatred here) so I will get it from 2 angles but Meh, don't give a what they think.

We limped into Tambo where a Diesel truck mechanic refused to look at it. After pleading he raised the bonnet, looked around and asked "but where is the radiator cap?"
I showed him the reservior but he said "**** mate I can't work on one of these things..not even a radiator cap!"
Took on 100 litres of bad bore water and had used it all by the time we crept into Blackall where we also failed to get anyone to look at it, was trucked home under RACQ membership. Turned out to be a simple water pump.
Point is that while we were in Blackall we had a chat to some locals who told us that if it isn't a Toyota or Nissan it will not get looked at in the outback. Now this was a simple machine, no computer even. What hope would there be these days?
That's just like one of the two mechanics here in town. One has spent years saying, "I don't work on Land Rovers" every time I walked in, even if I was always there about a work Toyota or whatever else. It's pathetic. If you're a mechanic you should take pride in being able to fix anything. And I've laughed at him for years because I'm self-taught, have never had any money or a decent shed, and somehow I can manage where a qualified professional with a big workshop can't.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.

In my research to buy something else, it is is enlightening to look at various forums and find out all the issues other makes have. Yet they still all bag Landrovers, if you mention you own one.

I think it is just conditioning.

When I got my D2 about 4.5 years ago my oldies asked where the corgies were?

Why'd I buy it because they're no good, not built for Australian conditions blah blah blah?

They've had there D4 for about 6 months now & know it's the best car they've ever had or ever will have

I'm not sure why you guys let what other people think get to you. No-one has given me any grief about having the old Rangie ............ Then again, I also own old Citroens so I think the " I don't give **** what you think " attitude tends to radiate from me ..... I'm forever getting in trouble from SWMBO ... she reckons I'm not very nice to people sometimes ( um, yeah, she uses those words ). I just tend to be rather blunt with dickheads. I can't help it.

If someone asks me I'll tell them Range Rovers are pieces of **** and they don't want one..... So are old Citroens ................ Why would I want to drive up there prices. The only reason I own them is all the nuff nuffs out there are scared of them, so drive the prices down to the point where even I can afford them.

If it's not fun, it's not worth doing ... One of my bosses asked me when I'm going to get a decent car the other day ... (having just bought a prado). He didn't seem overly impressed when I suggested only chubby middle aged women drive prados ... and only big outback adventures... like to the local school and supermarket.. No doubt he's even less impressed since, as he'll have looked around at every prado on the road and realised I'm not **** stiring , it's actually a fact
