Since having my dental implants fitted I have to use one of these - http://www.waterpik.com.au/product.aspx?id=2 - I opted for this particular model as when charged it can be used for at least a week between charges and is fully portable making it ideal for camping etc.

You can also get toothbrush attachments for it, so it might be a solution for you to consider. It certainly works

Well at least you could then use the same charger as your iPhone / ipad.
