I dont say ALL is bad, and I do agree on some of the improvments that have happened. But I'm sorry, from where I sit, its pretty much all greed based.
But lets look at all the problems we as a society face today, and funnily enough,, when does it all kind of start??, this along with processing more food, and then of course, fast food. More obesity than ever before,, so much so, theres a whole new industry based on dealing with it,,(Not that I can talk :() We seem to have more alergies that we have to deal with, so now kids cant eat this, cant eat that. I think the worst thing I ever heard of 25 years ago, was people who got sick when they ate seafood,, (sorry Ean,, lucky me but,, cause I got my sisters share :D).
In reality, greed seems to be the bottom line for pretty much everything in the world. A business is not in the game for charity. Its there to make money, the more the better. And escentially, every single person is in their own little business, to get, or make the best life they can for themselves.

As far as I am aware, it gives no problem in the meat, but rather as it gets passed by the animal, there is some evidence of a residual found in the waterways where stock frequent.Quote:

I take it that you are a young whippersnapper that doesn't remember that the government compensated the dairy farmers handsomely when the industry deregulated, funded by a levy on milk for 10 years.
This enabled many old farmers to sell out and their neighbours to buy them out.
This was necessary to take the industry from a "hobby" basis with average herds of 70 cows "Daisy Ruby and others" to a business basis competitive at world prices with an average herd of 300.
The deregulation was as a result of the Hilmer Report recommending deregulation of all Australian marketing boards etc. The only regulated industries left now are taxis and chemists and we all know how welll that works.

Ninety flatulent cows start fire at dairy farm in Germany
The methane gas released by 90 flatulent cows caused an explosion in a farm shed in Germany, damaging the roof and injuring one of the animals, local police said.
In a statement, the force said high levels of the methane gas had built up within the structure in the central German town of Rasdorf on Monday thanks to animals belches and flatulence, before “a static electric charge caused the gas to explode with flashes of flames."
The subsequent blast damaged the roof of the cow shed, Reuters reported. Emergency services who attended the scene took gas readings to check for any potential further blasts.
