No! No! No! That isn't the case, for reasons that Lotz-A-Landies and others have explained in some detail.

Absolutely no problem preferring your own race.
The problem is when you (or others) take actions to denigrate another race based upon nothing more than their skin colour or country of origin, or to provide services and opportunity to your own race and deny them to a different race again solely based upon the ethnic background of the person.
In a pluralistic society, people should be able to take up opportunities or benefits solely because of their skills, abilities, education and qualifications. They should be able to enjoy those opportunities, employment or other, without suffering physical or verbal abuse based upon some percieved notion of their ethnic background or lack of a particular ethnic background.
There are some exceptions to legislation around race, gender etc. Under philosophies/legislation of affirmative action, in some specified circumstances it is not racist to offer opportunities to one race to the exclusion of another race. e.g to employ an aboriginal person into a position as a health worker in an aboriginal community, even though there may be an anglo-Australian who is better qualified. These exemptions have to be determined before offering the position to anyone and gaining an exemption for the position.
Did I muddy the waters even more?
oohh I wouldn't go telling to many people you are a Collingwood supporter!
:wasntme:
Why is it not racist to pick a sporting team based on race ie the indiginous cricket, football teams to the exclusion of anglo saxons, asians, indians ect?If i advertised for a team that only whites or asians could be in,i'd be hounded by every media outfit and government guango.[no offence to any indidgenous or part thereof intended].I am merely posing the question.
Why do u care if you're racist?
How do u question something that is not associated with anything???
:what:
You politely explain to them that you think what they did was impolite, and request that they vacate your space. You don't say "Move ya stuff and **** off back to ya own country ya bastard" because that is racist :)
Personally I think the 'racist' card gets played far too often, and this 'dilutes', for want of a better word, the true issue of racism.
That's why I vote 1, Zombie apocalypse: No discrimination of any sort :D
But you know what? That just does not give the correct message to someone new here that their behaviour (culturally driven or just plain rude) is not appropriate in that instance or any similar situation.
What approach will enlighten the honest, culturally driven normal fella while also pulling the choker chain on the dirty dog who is just a ***** of a human?
