Hi Duff, where did you get it done at and what did you ask for, did you ask for any work other than the standard 60k service?
what are people paying for the 60,000 service on TD5 disco, I just payed $614.00 and feel this is pretty steep.
My car was done in Brissy and I have not got a copy of the receipt as yet to see what was done. :?

$547 and change for mine done by a dealer in Brisbane. I remember typing out the service check list for someone else in this forum or was it the tech chatter forum for what was done.

One of the key things here is the paper oil filter (the white spin on one) that LR call the "Full Flow Filter" is changed every 60,000Km.
I hope this helps you out. This looks like a standard print out and some parts will be "as applicable" if you don't have ACE or a clutch or height adjusters etc. I don't have any of that fancy stuff in my TD5.
That was for me Moses, and you were right onthe mark. Everything that you said was done and although i didn't have to pay for it mine also came to $550 from Trivett's in the city so thats obviously the goging price.

In reply so far,
I asked for nothing more than the standard service, I advised them that the filter fuel filter was changed 5000km previous by LR on warranty, it was done by a brisbane area dealer who had had my vehicle sent to them by LR, for some major warranty work that could not be done by the agent in Weipa.
It actually cost $714.00 but $100.00 was quoted to fit an aftermarket CD player, so until I get the invoice in the mail(they wouldnt fax it ?????) I have to assume the cost was $614.00 for the service. Hope they have replaced some brake pads or something or I have been ripped off, going on what you guys have paid. I'll let them know that maybe they should have rang before they went ahead and changed things.......I have a full set of LR brake pads at home waiting to go on when it gets back,,,,AH WELL next rotation I guess.

I recently crossed the 60K line
When I bought my Disco two years ago it came with a 60K / 3 year warranty /service package, although the first bit is whatever comes soonest in my case 60K km
The Land Rover dealer here in Dubai was first to do this in UAE, Toyota don't bother, Mitsubishi have recently followed suit and no idea about Nissan.
Surprised that Land Rover dealers in Oz don't do the same :?
Might be worth haggling with them before you buy or is this just my Middle East influence.
Interesting point, Sharky. A mate of mine bought a Ford Falcon last year and it came with servicing included to 60,000Km. I can't see why it can't simply be added to the purchase price. Warranty stuff will always be warranty stuff and dervice items will be a pre defined cost. I guess the owner will have to pay for anything over and above the "normal" procedures.
I think serivcing is a great idea - though it is my personal opinion thta the majority of new model landrovers on the road in sydeny are leased anoyhow....
couple of pro's and cons in my eyes,
1.service included will ensure that landrover vehicles will remain well cared for for three years (on avearage) or so that means that when they hit the second hand market they might fetch more doleros.
2. This might give landrover the opportunity to have landrover approved secon hand vehicles ...thin about it.
3. if newer old models are getting better money - will thid drag up the value of my 93 disco...
4. Service included pricing may further drive the possibility that i might buy one out of my reach ....and many other normal every day blokes and ladies .
5. might birng a few of these dealers into line - how one company can quote 1000 odd doleros for something another can do for 650 is beyone me - but then again i live and work in the west ......
