Easy fix: Put an auxiliary fuel tank in place of the spare.
Put the spare on the tailgate.

Here's a thought: A roof rack is out, or you'll lose the benefit of that lovely full length 'sunroof' :?

    Spare Tyre Picture

Check out this photo of the Spare wheel. Looks like a steel rim and a thin space saver tyre at that. May be just the US version as this is a photo from the New York Motorshow of the LR3. Not impressed if it is. I need a real spare!!!!!!!

You can check out this sight for every possible photo angle of the Discovery 3 / LR3. It has 129 Photos.

You must have to have arms like a gorilla to lift the tyre up into its cubby hole there...

BTW: I have received an invite to come and look at it when it arrives. Not sure if they'll let me take it for a spin after they've seen my Xtreme ???

Sureley they would have some sort of system to lift the wheel into place, perhaps even a small electric motor.

An invitation so see it already hey goblin. Does it say when it will be??

On the other hand - if it's a space saver spare, you'd just chuck it out and put an auxiliary fuel tank, or a water tank, there instead.
