Never done a cruise, but would love to. The only problem I see is there are kids everywhere from what I've heard about and seen on the telly and all the ads I've looked at. Are there any cruises that don't encourage the parents to take the rug rats? My kids are grown up now and the last thing I would want is to be stuck on a tub on the ocean that's full of 'em...

That said, I don't want to be stuck with an ancient bunch who are waiting to shuffle off either.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

Only done one 'cruise' on the Fairstar years ago. It was called the cruise to nowhere and just pulled up a several kilometres outside Sydney heads and sat there for two days while everyone got tanked. I don't remember much other than it being like a floating RSL club

Well after all that we couldn't get a cabin where we wanted as the said cruise is nearly sold out, and the cabins that are left are not in the best spot.

So we are now doing new years on the Voyager of the seas instead.

The last cruise we did there was plenty of kids, we took our daughters who were 15 & 20 and the younger kids and teenagers all hang in the kids club, or teenagers club , so you hardly see them.

Certainly couldn't say we encountered any problem kids, and we spent new years on the cruise so if there was a time for them to play up would be then I would think.

My wife and son are the ones that really wanted to experience a cruise. We picked the one we booked on because it has an ice skating rink to keep my 12 yo happy. The last cruise I went on lasted for 6 months, and it was a big grey boat that had planes taking off, and landing on it. 6400 men, and no women
The USS America is the only super carrier that has been sunk. One day the video of it sinking will make it onto youtube, but as of now it is classified. As much as I hated that boat, it is a sad thing to know it lies on the bottom of the Atlantic.
At least I won't be working on my next cruise!!

    Cheers,

    Ken

Ps best part of the rhapsody cruise was Anzac dawn service in the middle of the pacific something I will never forget

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Start with a trip to Tassie on the Spirit. A 'cruise' of sorts and you're guaranteed to meet some interesting people around the bar and end up at a great destination.

Ocean liner is a term from the early days when the liner services went from specific destinations, Southampton/New York, San Fran/Tokyo, before planes were so popular, much like a glorified bus service.

Cruise liners are the modern term as the destination is not so much the priority but the cruise itself, they switch ships all over the world depending on markets so design is irrelevant. Carnival own the majority of the cruise brands out there, princess, holland America and a few others.
