Gee, heading to the ol'dart with the ol'lady life sounds so hard. Landrover factory sounds good, maybe Jaguar or some F1 factories. Up to Scotland lots of scotch distilleries maybe over to Ireland to Guinness for a pint or 12. Did I mention the Blarney stone? Paris, the EIffel tower, the louvre, maybe visit Villers Bretonneaux War cemetery, they love Aussies there. And if you aint that enthusiastic I will happily go in your place, god knows i'd love to because I cant afford the experience myself.

    Ron,
Could you drop in to soilihull in June with a Torx in your pocket , and give my Defender build the once over
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

This might just be the most "first world problem" thread on any forum in the history of the internets.

I still can't generate any enthusiasm.

Some months ago I bought a book on places to visit in Britain. I haven't even opened it.

I've also lost interest in photography which hasn't impressed Elisabeth when one considers how much I've spent on gear over the past couple of years. I'm not even going to camera club meetings even though I'm the Treasurer and Webmaster. I'm thinking that I won't bother taking a camera on the trip.

That will give you the chance to purchase a faulty camera while you are there.
It will have the bonus that you will be not able to return it

    Ron,
Start bookmarking links to UK military vehicles for sale in the UK.
Print out a few UK ebay pages of tracked amour vehicles.
Ask questions such as "Do you think we could park a Landrover 101 on the front lawn?"
You'll find the "overseas trip" will soon be talked about in hushed tones.
A few quotes for container shipping left lying around the house also helps.

Ron, i wish my 80yr old mother was like you.

She is the opposite, seems intent on travelling the world,is only here for a few months each year.

Spending the kids inheritance(what is left of it),and risking getting sick in a third world country somewhere.

She actually sent me a txt today from some place in South America!

Nothing either myself or any of my brothers can do,she gave up listening to us about 50 yrs ago...

    Anyway,hope things sort themselves out.

My 2 cents worth is you should go.
