Yes I did bring up the statistical issue of TV paedophiles, because they make up a very small proportion of all paedophiles. Your girls are more at risk of abuse from other family members and family friends or even the clergy than they are by someone in the wrong toilet by your definitions. and in the past I have mentioned both priests and Christian brothers

Suggest you remove the highlighted section as its a lie, I've never met Valera but for you to state that I have is an attempt to throw mud. And a severe personal attack.

You where the one who defended Bevan with the line " what goes on in the bedroom should stay there" when I raised the documented / Published facts he ran a ring of molesters. You where the one who labeled people homophobes when they said molesters should get more severe sentencing. Maybe it's because of your work in that area/district , which was both the Illawarra AND a base/house in the kings cross area, and the fact that Bevan and Arkell where running pedophile rings in the same areas irks you for some reason? ( did you miss something?, suspect something?, know something ?)but that is not my problem.

I never attempted to justify the actions of Bevan et al. although if I remember correctly I did make the comment that not every one of their actions in life were disgusting as is abuse. I still believe that what happens in the bedroom of consenting adults should be outside public comment. There were also my points that the age of consent for homosexual males was different (higher) in the 1990s to that of all females and heterosexual relationships, this is no longer the case. You always took me wrong on these points.

Have never worked in the Illawarra although have worked in both Sydney and Shoalhaven. Yes I have been employed in the field of health dealing with with young gay youth and if you remember I said that if any of the cases of Bevan etc had been brought to me or my team we would have addressed them and commenced actions.

What is relevant to this thread and joins it with the now deleted thread was the case where a young cross dressing male on a homosexual "beat" in Wollongong, was bashed to death and the defence of the perpetrator was the "gay panic" defence which minimised the sentence. This is exactly on case for this thread, that these special legal exceptions that discriminate and marginalise people in this country should not exist in todays society.

BTW: If I wanted to silence you, I could have deleted your posts (or edited them) but I have not done that. The closing of previous threads was not my decision.

No problem with any label that is in use, problem occurs with ease of misuse of that label. How would you prevent this?
After your false accusation and lack of apology it needs to be asked, did you have any association with Bevan ,Evans, Arkell or their associates?
As you state you never saw any of their victims.

I'm not sure what labels you believe are open to abuse, and therefore that a problem actually exists by label abuse.

The age of consent for females and heterosexual males in the 1990s was and remains 16. The age when a person ceases to be a legal "child".

The age of consent for males in a homosexual encounter in the 1990s was 18. It was the case that a 60 year old man could have sex with a 16 year old female and that was not defined as paedophillia (although IMHO imoral) whereas if the 16 yo was a male it was considered paedophillia and therefore a crime. It was also the case where two young males say 17 and 18 would have been in a illegal relationship and the 18 yo charged as a paedophile.

This is the sort of differentiation that I believe is a discrimination, but I also remember that you felt that a 16 or 17 yo male was not as emotionally mature as a similar age female. While there is some general evidence to that effect, I believe that each young person should be treated the same legally so either the age of consent is 16 for all or it is 18 for all.

This is all just getting weird and freaky now...........
