Well, I havent been pulled over for a couple of months now, but, you guessed it, I was pulled over earlier this evening.
When they saw it was a grumpy old bastard driving the crappy blue Commodore, they didn't quite know what to do?
"Is it your car?" they asked. "Yes." was the answer. Not happy with that, they conferred.
"Do your lights work?"
"Yes." I lied.
I showed them headlghts, high beam and indicators.
They then conferred further.
"Blow in this." they said offering me the electronic gizmo.
They then got bored and told me to go.

I should retire the Commodore but it is going so well.

Swap it for an old Merc. I bought one and I've become essentially invisible to the police. They think I'm respectable, more fool them. Good to drive too and didn't cost a lot to buy.

Already got two old Mercs.

I wouldn't mind getting a really nice W126 but, realistically, I think I'll replace it with a turbo Territory.

if you think the local wallopers know you too well, try being on first name terms with BOTH of the local traffic officers..... who BOTH have your mobile number....
