Bull****. Perhaps before you go calling anyone names you should at least use google.
FAQ's on the NDIS
I understand the NZ scheme applies only to NZ residents.
If you are a visitor and are injured, I think they look after you while you are there, but if you want to go back home then any care and compensation stops.
Our NDIS apparently stops looking after you at 65 and / or won't take you on after that age. Your super or the pension is supposed to be enough to look after your needs.
Sorry. The thread digresses.

I'd typed 2 relies to this, but both got erased by my iPhone due to technical issues!
So the short version is, OHS does indeed go mad. It also goes mad in the UK & Europe.
However, I could probably live with it more easily if actual issue were resolved when they were brought up.
Two perennial issues in refrigeration / A/C are: safe or sensible access for maintenance. And site rules like (for e.g.) 'All roofs may only be accessed if 2 or more men are present, due to site staff's inability to see that you require assistance.' That get ignored because the client refuses to pay for the second bloke.
To me, when OHS really goes mad is when obvious issue like these are ignored.
Thanks for that. I've obviously touched a nerve.

An excerpt directly from your link above:
"Q. Who will be eligible?
Eligibility for individual support packages and financial support depends on:
........
........
People aged over 65 years at the time they request NDIS support will not be eligible. However, future participants can choose to continue with the NDIS once they turn 65."
So, not bullsh*** is it?
Lotsa holes in NDIS, and we still await the fine detail.
I have my doubts it will properly look after those in need, and in a timely manner. And thats my major concern.
By all means keep discussing the NDIS and what it may or may not cover, but please keep the party politics out of it. If you have noticed a couple of posts have already been edited. It would make my life simpler if you just didn't do it.
Cheers.

Just to clarify, it looks like you are both right and wrong on some points. Looks like it will continue to look after you once you turn 65 if you are already signed up, but won't take you on after you're 65 if you haven't.
And I don't think the current system looks after anyone in need properly or in a timely manner, so it is a step in the right direction IMO.

Yes, it is bull****. As you have quoted, people who are accessing a disability service when they turn 65 will get continuity of support. People over 65 are not entitled to join the NDIS because they are catered for by another program.
As for awaiting 'fine detail' - what are you waiting for? The legislation is freely available. Perhaps educating yourself would prevent you trotting out this sort of nonsense in the future? 3 seconds with google might do you a world of good.
