I bought a swag on ebay on Sunday, from Brisbane. Auspost tracking said delivery today. I got an email early this morning to say that it was out in vehicle for delivery. At 07:45 when I was going out to the car to leave for work, the van was in the driveway :-)
Just checked got another email at 07:55 to say that it has been delivered
So looks like they can get it right some of the time, actually probably most of the time.
    Cheers
    Mike

I had a parcel posted from Gold Coast last Monday express post which did not arrive Tuesday or Wednesday . I looked up tracking no which said was delivered 10.45am Tues. I rang A.P to ask where it was & was told to have a good look around yard to see if I could find it & they would ask contractor were they left it & would tale 72hr's & they would get back to me, I also checked with the other 10 houses in our street if it had been delivered there, I am still waiting for them to get back. The package arrived Friday , 3 days after tracing said it had been deliverer & should have been delivered.

Australia Post are useless, I have had plenty of trouble with this pathetic organisation. If a non government department functioned like this there would be hell to pay but because they are government run they get away with poor service.

I have just sent complaint to the Postal Ombudsman. I see if I get an answer back from A.P.

Wife had some confidential legal and commercial document sent to our home recently, registered mail - to be delivered and signed for in person only.

They never arrived. So chasing up with Aust Post they report "the driver delivered them but nobody was home so he left them on the front lawn near the letter box, go and have a look around the gardens out the front"

They weren't out the front, maybe blown away. So back to Aust Post. They eventually tracked them down - the driver had delivered them to the wrong address, nobody home so left them on the front lawn and marked his delivery log sheet as 'UD' - unattended delivery.

Registered mail - pay for it but don't expect it to be treated that way.

Yes & when you ring Aust Post you find out what a longgg weight is. Any were from 1hr to 1.5hrs. & then get fobbed off.

I just went to open the front door to let some air through the house and noticed a card in the screen door, I look further outside and see an AP contractor getting into his car so I open the door and call out to the contractor who in turn looks at me, puts his car into gear and drives away.
I know he didn't knock because my dog is the best doorbell around.
