    Freeview Plus !!!

I note that regional areas will not be getting tv freeview plus , what ever that is ?? because win/prime etc will not be participating , in my opinion freeview has sunk to a level that it is not worth watching anymore with its crapp repeats AAAGGGGGHHHHH !!! . Gees these guys are making Foxtell look real good .

In my view - freeview is a dismal failure - small library of shows held by the networks so constant reruns - i must have seen all the Harry Potter films 10 times as well as Big Bang and 2 1/2 Men.

Little wonder there are so many illegal downloads - as Choice/Checkout found the networks/Foxtel have no one to blame but themselves for people illegally downloading as they provide such a bad choice of programs or in the case of Foxtel unreasonable pricing and poor packaging.

Last week I watched the entire last season of Game of Thrones - downloaded (not by me) in 1080p - if I wanted to watch it I would have bought an expensive Foxtel Package - including ads - why do you pay for ads.

That's just the way Rupert (aka Tony Abbot's favourite "Australian") wants it.

That's why I record all my tv using a digital recorder on free to air. Then I fast forward all the adds. We generally are only a day behind. So if there is a movie I want too see tonight, I record it and then watch it in 1/2 the time tomorrow night. Works a treat. That and my computer nerd mate downloads heaps of shows illegally and gives them to me

Lucky you - you're obviously not on Freeview satellite. The receivers have been doctored so you can't fast forward through the ads

I don't understand how Freeview is different to normal TV channel programming. Am I missing something?

I see that on Freeview (from the Wiki):

Recorders will not be able to skip over ads,
Why would I want a service like that? At least with Foxtel I can FF through the adverts.

Ron, as far as I know terrestrial receivers are ok, it is just the satellite ones.
And if you are like me you don't find out untill the box is in the house.
    I didn't buy it.
