I don't think it's so much a "which tyre's best" thread, yet. More a balanced discussion on different experiences we'va all had with tyres.
I dont think any tyre is best, sure some are better than others, but you also, usually, pay more for the tyres that are best, whilst this is not always the case. I think which tyre is best comes down to a number of things, namely, intended use, operating conditions, the type of vehicle upon which they are fitted and value for money. If a tyre only lasts 1/2 as long as a top name tyre but it is 1/3 the price the cheaper tyre is not as good but it is better value for money as you can buy 3 of the cheap tyre for the price of one good one. Of course personal preference has a big factor on which tyres you buy, I am a Dunlop man and having had a great run withem, wouldnt buy anything else, however the bloke next door might have had a terrible time withem and cant get further away from them, again this will be due to all of the above factors. All we can do is tell everyone on the forum our experiences with the various tyres we have used and let the person asking the question make up their own mind which tyre they finally decide to buy, however after reading the forum his/her decision is generally more informed.
