particularly with a nice little 3.5 auto in it.
Our new addition to the Rover Family. Bought for my boy to play with as a restoration project. 1956 Rover 90 P4, no significant rust, fairly straight except for quarter damage to passenger rear quarter.
Will be after a few bits and pieces mainly decent grill, inner door handles and window winders, front bumper centre, maybe a later model disc brake front end and suspension. Toying with putting a Rover V8 into it.
Cheers
Craig

I can help with some of the parts you are after but I am in Brisbane. Last year I bought a guys collection of Rover & Landrovr parts ranging from 1925 Rover to SD1 & S1 to 80's L/R & Range Rover I have over 200 fruit boxes of parts new & S/h
Nice pick up. Your boy is one lucky fellow. I've always had a soft spot for those Rovers and their "suicide" doors. I think the term "quirky elegance" sums the car up nicely.
Came across a Rover 90 as I was driving through North Parramatta. It gleamed, the paintwork was immaculate and it was being driven by an older gentleman. Jim

Thanks, your assistance may be really valuable. Sounds like you got one hell of a collection of parts. He is starting to strip out the 90. Had been parked in a shed for over 20 years. Rats and mice have done the most damage, mainly to the interior upholstery. Full of rubbish and rat and mouse crap. I think if it was left much longer it would have been nonviable to restore. Will probably need engine bits as well if we go down the stock path with the 6 cylinder. If we go down the v8 path will be looking for a v8 with 5 speed manual out of either a P5/6 or SD1.
The list will grow I am sure as we start the process, but what we will be looking for are the following:
Grill inner piece or whole 3 piece grill.
Viking badge for bonnet.
90 Badge for grill.
Either complete front bumper (chrome) or centre section (missing)
Interior window winders
Interior door handles and pulls.
Any new condition rubbers and seals.
Chrome Hubcaps
Will be a lot of other items I would assume including maybe spare wheels and any relevant spare parts we should keep.
Cheers
Craig

Nice !!!
I say keep it bog standard originalI love the patina on that, I'd be keen to get it mechanically perfect and drive it as is, especially if the interior is in good nick.
it does however scare the **** out of me seeing it backwards on that trailer though![]()

Probably scared the crap out of people on the freeway. Unfortunately the only way we could get it out of the shed was to drag the rear end around and winch onto the trailer. That took 4 hours as it was jammed into the shed sideways with a 4 inch pole hard up against the front bumper and only 50 cm behind. After 4 hrs in a shed full of rubbish and rat droppings last thing we wanted to do was off load it and load it up again.

I moved a citroen 'DS' once backwards on a trailer 'cos it was the only way I could load it .............. bloody frightful it was ... at 20km/h crawling down back streets swaying like a b@stard until I find someone to unload/reload it the other way.
I moved someones Maserati Khansim for them recently on my trailer (I was working on it's hydraulics for him)... his son had just bent and wrecked his car trailer (and the tow car) .... "Did he load it backwards" was my immediate response .... YepLuckly no-one was killed, he was seriously annoyed about it .... but I reckon so long as no-one is hurt .... that's all that matters. It's a miracle when no-one is killed from car trailers loaded backward as they spin and roll down the road
You were probably fine with the car above either way, 'cos the car is small and light, and the axles are a decent distance back from the middle of the trailer.
I've spun my car trailer when I was doing about 90km/h on the geelong highway in the past. The load of massonite on it moved under the tiedowns to the back edge of the trailer ..... The bloody back wheels of the car must have been near dangling off the ground. That's why I get so **** scared when I see a trailer loaded backwards.... been there and done that![]()
