Don't be so critical of the surgeon. The wound obviously needed to be repaired back when, 35 years ago and it needed sutures . There are reasons why non-absorbing sutures are used, usually because the particular wound needed to be held together longer than absorbing sutures would last. In most cases the non-absorbing suture becomes encapsulated and remains in place for life.

In your case, and likely because it was the eye, an organ filled with two fluids, the suture has migrated.

    That's life.

The good thing with opthalmic surgery is that you get to watch!

Don't get me wrong Diana, I am wrapped with what they did for me, it was a tongue in check comment. The fact that they saved my eye was far more than I expected.
If this lasts 35 yrs I will be happy. As I said there are people far worse off than me, and to be honest I was extremely happy that was all the problem was, I was expecting far worse news believe me.

    Cheers Ean

35 years are better than the jobs done by Toyota going by their recalls in the last couple of years

Good luck with it mate My mum recently went in for some eye laser surgery to repair damage that's probably 40 years old.
I'm sure you'll be right as rain afterwards
