Thread: It only took 35 years

Must have been some kind of accident to require you to have the "back" of your eye stitched up. Care to enlighten us all

Medicines pretty amazing these days with what they can fix. Had a mate a few years back, had operations on his eyes, (at different times) to repair them. He wore what we called Coke bottle glasses. After the opps, no glasses.

Its called Don't under any circumstances fight someone who has a knife, unless you have a gun.


The knife = 1 my right eye = 0


Specialist seems to think its simple enough, only a day procedure these days.

Good luck with that, I shudder when anyone mentions eye surgery.

Could be worse, many years ago a friend of mine had a Cummins 555 crush his left big toe, and ever since then, even though healed, it was always sore.

a few years ago, apart from being a bat fastard, diabetes set in and his blood sugar levels were generally all over the shop, usually 2 metformin and 18 units of insulin every day.....

couple of weeks back, the damage in his toe finally got to the point where the doctors cut the toe and a fair chunk of his foot off.....

wouldnt ya know it, his diabetes has basically vanished to the point where all he's doing is monitoring his blood sugar levels...

Im certainly not complaining, there are people far worse off than me.


Well maybe that its going to put me out of pocket, but I would go without other things than risk my health so all good.


Of all the things I thought may be wrong with my eye , the old stitching coming thru was the last thing I expected to hear. If I don't need to see anyone for another 35 years then I will be happy.

Quite a few years ago I had a stress attack that made me bleed into one of my eyes,,While it eventually cleared up the worst part of the whole thing was the damn flash photos the surgeon took of the inside of my eye!
I hope the techniques improved Ean!

Far out Pedro , must have been a serious attack to cause that. I don't think the lights etc they shine in your eyes has changed, they didn't seem to be any better yesterday than they were 35 years ago from what I remember.


Hope whatever was causing your stress is no longer a part of your life.
