so, Hodgo, how do you feel about the Germans?

how many innocents did they kill?

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Rambling Boy, Yes we stopped them and we must do all we can to stop this genocide that is festering at an rate that will be out of control soon all a lot of people realise. I am 70 yrs. old I have seen war and death on the Streets of Saigon and Vietnam It still make me want to through up when I see kids suffering the stupidity of adults that believe their religious beliefs and the be all and end all. At 19 I saw a bus load of yanks blown to bits, young soldiers crying for their mother, innocent young Vietnamese kids dead or crying for help. If that what the Australians of this country want keep supporting them. Be

I see this as our country's first win I just hope that it gets enough publicity for government at all levels to realise that the people of this country does NOT want Mosque and their schools. The council and the people of Currumbin I feel have sent a message to the rest of Australia.

I see what you're saying but the comparison you were making were between countries where a significant portion of the population are nominally Christian and countries where Islam is also the law under which the country is run. In the so-called Christian countries the judiciary doesn't look to scripture to make its decisions. Under Islamic Sharia law Politics, religion and law are the same force. In the West, mostly, there is clear definition between church and state so that you can pursue your religion, or lack thereof, in freedom.

And the winner of today's xenophobia award goes to....

Islam is not the issue. Just because some Islamic people are fundamentalists doesn't mean all people of the Muslim faith need to be tarred with the same brush. Just because you don't understand an ethnic group or religion doesn't make it bad.i welcome mosques and Islamic schools in Australia. We are a multicultural society. Get over it.

    gusthedog,
With all due respect, your comments show you don't know what Islam is about. Islam IS the issue. The political goal of Islam is that the world becomes Islam- then there will be peace.

Indeed that may be true in countries under Sharia law as you stated. Not all Muslim countries use traditional Sharia law however. And a number of Islamic countries only use sections of it.

Also, all people of the Islamic faith do not want the world to become Muslims. I think that is an important fact. I'm my experience, most Muslims want clear separation of religion and politics just like the rest of us.
