    It was fairly predictable that such an accident would happen sooner or later. I believe they now have fill to shallow the water around the piers so that anything heavy enough to cause a repeat will run aground first.

    Filling to shallow water in the Derwent might be a problem, it's a very deep river.

    There was a special on TV not long ago the owner of the Holden (Monaro ??) Still owns it.
    I'd reckon there would be a bit of attachment to it.
