Must be cold in Queensland to have the firsts fire today. Here, in the tropical Tasmania last week we have a very nasty bushfire near St Helens where people have to be evacuated by boat.

Mid week we had a bushfire started by dry lightening in "heritage scrub" near glue pot/ppgonook parks.

Required a bulldozer grader and payloader to basically slice it across the front and isolate it... What didnt have tracks or trails now has a decent
few trails through it, the dry brush and fallen undergroth and bits have been cleared out of 2/3 of it but after 14 hours on the back of a 14 (QRV) I was ready for the end of fire season!

A grass fire has just started NW of Balaklava in SA's mid north, it's got the pre frontal NW wind pushing it along.
