Anybody see the 2005 movie "War of the Worlds" with Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning. Typical Yank rubbish, they took a perfectly good science fiction story and ruined it, all I remember is Dakota Fanning screaming all the way through the movie..................the special effects were good though!!

There was also a movie made in 1953 starring Gene Barry. In that movie the special effects of the time could not reproduce Martian tripods so they had the Martian machines hovering.

A bit of useless information, Gene Barry who was the star of the 1953 version, had a cameo role at the end of the 2005 version................now don't you feel better for knowing that.

Shame I missed the live production when it was on.

Just out of curiosity, do the CD versions still come with the booklet of song lyrics and those freaky pictures?

Jeff Wayne also did a musical version of Sparticus which was good, but not as good as WotW.
Anthony Hopkins did the narration. Ladysmith Black Mombazo did some of the music.

Yep sure does. Need a magnifying glass almost. The cd's I just got also contains some remixes of a couple of the songs at the end of disc 2. Playing it today brought back so many memories. I found myself singing along and remembering most of the words too.

    Cheers Rod

It's truly amazing. I cannot remember what I had for lunch yesterday, but I remember the words to the songs on War of the Worlds. Are any of the remixes any good, or is it just a modern computerised take on genuine classics?
