Nope, self righteous provocative idiot cyclist posted it all over the internet - obviously he needed more than just to see a knife to get the message, he is proud as punch about his actions.

Two lessons wasted, neither have learnt anything.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

True. His statement is indicative of his attitude. I'm sure he posted his evidence with a view to vindicate his actions but by not showing the ten or twenty seconds prior to his close quarters situation he is obviously concealing the action which sparked the incident.
Something must have occurred to spark Toyoman up. I doubt that he would have been so pumped full of Testosterone and Adrenaline, by simply driving down a quiet suburban street. Well unless he was on a promise and was super keen to get home or some such.
As for Toyoman; I think he got off lightly. wielding a knife is pretty serious stuff. People have beed shot for less.
    Cheers, Billy.
    Keeping it simple is complicated.

Oh well. Let's hope they meet again soon and rid us all if their stupidity.

if contact was made, the law says you must exchange details.
the cyclists doesnt pull over to do that.

i'm not condoning the 4wd drivers actions at all.
The "contact" was at the 4-7second mark where the cyclist slapped the toymotas back window/panel. The driver overreacted by pulling a knife.
Now why was that cyclist ASSerting himself ,constantly, when during the entire video there is a lovely wide flat and empty footpath/ cycleway on the other side of the road?

The driver pushed past the cyclist just before a roundabout, crossing double lines, then cut the cyclist off! The driver is clearly in the wrong. ...to then speed past, stop and pull a knife! Is even more outrageous, dangerous and illegal! And some of you guys are defending this driver??? Seriously?? The cyclist did nothing wrong at all in that video, which is why he would have posted it on the Internet. It was dangerous driving and illegal threatening behaviour by the Toyota driver who should be charged.

Unless something is done about this thread which is consistently endorsing illegal, threatening and dangerous behaviour by drivers towards cyclists on a motoring website, I will report it and cancel my membership of AULRO.

Mr Landy. I don't think anyone has endorsed the actions of the Driver or the Cyclist. Both have been criticised. Have a look at the article that goes with the video and see if you see see nothing in it to make you suspect that the Cyclist was being provocative. The mere fact that the video doesn't begin until the Driver moves to overtake makes me suspicious.
Bear in mind that I am both Cyclist and Motorist and I would never take the actions that either of them have taken. Somehow I doubt that you would either.
    Cheers, Billy.

What actions did the cyclist take?

The video is all we have to go on. Supposition about anything else is irrelevant.

    .. .... ..
Although you haven't explicitly said so, your comment implies that the driver did something illegal by crossing double lines.

    According to this site:

RAA | Motoring & Road Safety / Safety for Road Users / New Cycling Laws - FAQs

Motorists can cross solid single and double white lines and drive over painted islands in order to pass cyclists, when it is safe to do so.

NB. I am not defending the driver.

Thanks vnx, but clearly it wasn't safe to do so.
