yes, Land Rover owners are supposed to be nice people.
Perhaps it's just the series owners who never catch up to cyclists
Came up behind 3 riders this afternoon on a fairly narrow 100KPH road. They were riding quite fast in single file. There was a queue of traffic coming the other way, so I just backed off and dropped back my speed so I didn't pass them while the oncoming traffic passed the other way. Once clear, I moved well out of the way to go past them, and got a big wave from the tail end Charlie, which I returned with a thumbs up out the window. They held me up all of 10 seconds, and I was on my way again, safely and respectfully for everyone. It's not that hard to share the road with everyone who wants to use it folks.. I just don't get all the hatred generated in this thread.

Exactly! If someone is courteous around me when I'm on the bike, I always wave so they know it was appreciated. What I REALLY appreciate is when people wanting to turn right across my path wait for me to pass in the opposite direction, especially if I'm slogging up a hill.

Then I'll wait patiently again if needed. Why get upset about it? There are too many angry people in this world. Take a chill pill and enjoy life at the speed it comes to you, not at a million miles an hour - you'll be happier and live longer.Any way, in town I doubt I'd be held up by a cyclist, they generally get through the traffic much quicker than I can in my car, which is, after all part of the traffic I'm stuck in...

i like it when your drifting around a dirt corner at speed, and the cyclist jumps off his bike and hides behind a tree , that's courtesy![]()

By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

One wonders why the little black car had to pass the cyclist on the left hand side. Clearly the cyclist was not keeping to the left.
Then, later, he blamed his poor riding skills on a pot hole. I'm not saying the motorists were blameless. I'm suggesting the cyclist was not as squeaky clean as he makes out to be.
