Well that's a relief ............. I'll leave it to S. Else to take up the clue & give the correct river.
I must admit that the bridge did look a bit small to be crossing the MMR at it's mouth.

Sorry, my questions don't seem to be getting us closer to your location.
    That's not a Pacific, it's a Pommy engine.
    Cheers, Billy.

A Pacific is internationally referred as any 4-6-2. The Flying Scotsman and most of the crack Pommie expresses were Pacifics.

That's the place. The bridge claims to be the oldest reinforced concrete bridge in Australia, constructed in 1907. Looks like the concrete cancer may have to be dealt with soon! Anyway, over to you.

Of course. I stand corrected. Better go and dust off my Railway hat.

No mention of the oldest re-enforced bridge, not that I dooubt it, but the first steel line is mentioned.

    Looks like it's not a Pacific, it's a 4-6-0, a popular Pommie configuration.

I was only going off my memory of the adjacent plaque. Anyway, here's an article on the bridge concerned and another concrete arch bridge nearby. The Hindmarsh River bridge appears to be the earliest of its type,
the Hindmarsh River bridge was the first to be built on the "beam and slab" principle in Australia.
according to the article. Another article says
the Reinforced Concrete and Monier Pipe Construction Co. Ltd was founded by Monash in Melbourne in 1905 and pioneered reinforced concrete construction in Victoria. The company produced many buildings, bridges, water-tanks and silos using this type of construction in Victoria and South Australia.
    All pretty interesting.
