    Look for the irregularity in the horizon of the last photo - this is where the SCHwy passes through the small range & is your clue to part of the name of the area.

    Wow - that clue about the low spot in the range seems to have done the trick. I think I'll have a couple of day's off now and enjoy Christmas.

    Any of the three Fowler's Gap answers would have been acceptable so I'll have to take the first one.

    You can stay at the University run Arid Region Research Station and depending who is resident there at the time, could learn a bit about what they are researching. We stayed there for a relaxing two nights at the start of our Madigan Trip in 2007 - needed to unwind after hectic preparations for a remote area trip.

    If you're not ready to post yet fitzy you could pas the baton onto Chenz. Who knows, it may even get to Mrs hh.
