I was told the little bobcat excavator was 2 weeks old when they sank it in the mud. Not a single component appeared to have been rescued off it, I reckon it probably still had the battery in it. Your taxes at work.

I will pay that. Banana Well was what I was after but it's virtually a suburb of Beagle Bay. The sunken loader is visible on Google Earth at 8.02km bearing 181.85 from the centre of the Beagle Bay church. The Bobcat can be seen as a dark spot on the channel bank 120m due north of the loader. The definition on Google Earth is not quite good enough to make out the bloke with the crab.

That area has claimed a number of vehicles. We came across a Blitz Wagon (subject of an earlier post on 'Where am I') when there in 1997 but didn't see the Bobcat or Loader - most likely they are more recent victims than 20 years ago.

A couple of different type ones next - after the location AND the event.
It would be very easy if you were there as it was a memorable weekend.

Yeah typo 281.85. Those photos were taken in 2014, the images on Google Earth must be around the same time, I reckon there'd probably barely be enough sticking up to stake a tyre on by now. The Banana well mob had signs up all over the place saying they wouldn't pull you out if you got bogged. Top spot.

Definitely won't be me getting the LR gathering.

Correct state but wrong location and, assuming you were thinking of the 60th Anniversary, wrong event.
    Although it was an anniversary.
