So if your an Australian and you try to take some grass into Indonesia you get 20 years but if you an Indonesian how arranged to have more than 100 Australians murdered, you get 30 months.
Thats fair and we gave this scum $1,000,000,000.

My sympathies to her and her family, I hope they can all tough it out.

why bother with the trial when you make a descision before it even starts. The judges have never aquitted and now with the atttention they were certainly not going to change that.
a young womens life is over! I will never go to indonesia and certainly will be urging everyone else not to either. she is a women and an Australian and therefore she was screwed from day 1!

Have a read of the travel advice for Indonesia... only updated today :!:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>The recommendation that Australians defer non-essential travel applies to Indonesia as a whole, including Bali.
and I wonder when they added this....
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>Australians are reminded that when overseas, they are subject to local laws. Local laws and legal processes can be very different from those in Australia. A violation of local laws may result in a jail sentence, served in a local prison. Consular assistance cannot override local law, even where local laws may appear harsh or unjust by Australian standards.
Penalties for drug offences can be severe and include the death penalty.
Could be worse I s'pose....they may make you go to gaol!Originally posted by matbor

Obviously they know shes not guilty so they give her 20years.
If she was guilty they would have shot her or at least given her life sentence.
They cant be seen to stop their non aquital policy now.
F%&*ing animals.

Poor girl .. she was dead in the water from day one. Corby's lawyers should start a National campaign to stop all travel to Indonesia .. that will influence the appeal. I'm sure the Supreme Court judges will get a call from higher up if it means millions in lost revenue.
To be fair though .. at least they are consistent in their ruling. In this case it is terrible but in cases where "real" smugglers might have gotten away on a technicality .. they are now spending time behind bars.
