Certainly much of value in the 4wd stakes.
I am the same, i hang around and watch most of the time, they are, as you say, like a bunch of toddlers the way they carry on. I sometimes throw in a hand grenade and run to a safe distance to watch. Disco95 often drops nuclear bombs and then runs a long way. Matt

The thing that always cracks me up is when you come across an overlander forum reader out in the Gafa... you can normally spot them with their 100 series with all the fruit, wheels splayed outwards because they have exceeded their GMV by about half a tonne and stopped because:

1. No one told them about low range.. (dead set, have recovered 2 x Toyo drivers by engaging low range on their vehicle and driving them out).

2. they are lost - the melways or UBD apparently got a bit lost or incoherent after Broadmeadows or Pymble..

3. stuck with no spare after doing two tyres -- commenting on the track, their bad luck and how hard it is .. then you find they are running at 50psi ... 8O

4. their better half has cracked it and won't go any further because there was nowhere to plug in the hair dryer when they packed up the kimberly kamper that morning and the last mission / roadhouse where they bought fuel did not offer a decent latte.

The bit that really tickles me is when you see them a few days later in town at the camping ground and they have gone from being as succesfull as Burke and Wills to being the new Len Beadell...

And that is just the editorial staff!

I just keep quietly taking solace in the comfort and idiosyncracies of my british 'precision' engineering.

Got to laugh at them - you are not allowed to shoot them!

Cheers

MT
