Bugger that - just pulled my thumbnail off the nail bed - caught it on the woodheater throwing in a log! Ouch that smarts [tonguewink]

Thats a lot of discomfort for a long time, for a small slip.
I lifted my big toenail half off in January and it still hasn't grown out.
I did something similar back in the 90's - was fitting a new plug socket , kneeling on floorboards , just wearing socks , no shoes, went to move my leg back before getting up and caught my big toe nail on the edge of the floorboard. That hurt as well.

I hadn't expected to spend tonight in the emergency unit at Canberra Hospital with an injured student, but you get that. Had a good ending though - arm not broken - so that's good. Joys of working in education, I guess.
The good ,some great people cleaned up Chilly beach on Cape York .The bad over 6 ton of rubbish including more than 5000 thongs and this is only the stuff that floats
