Probably don't tell your other half but Huntsman don't double in size very quickly - it was almost certainly a different spider. 😁
We had a nest hatch in our house some time ago and it actually takes a couple of years for them to grow up - we watched all our little babies grow up and some even moved out. Used to scare the bejesus out of visitors as there was always one or two in the pantry minding the tea and coffee.
Over the time we were there I jumped more times than I care to remember when they would just be in front of you all of a sudden, but both me and SWMBO got used to living with them and it's the reason we both don't even bat an eyelid these days to them.
Maybe you should get your missus a few of them - exposure to your fears helps reduce them. 👍😊

I was staying in a house at Coffs Harbour a few years ago, when a Huntsmen nest hatched. There were thousands of the little buggers running around the boys room. To top it off a locust flew onto our bedroom every night we were there. SWMBO refused to enter the room until I had returned it to the wild.[The locust that is.]
Cheers, Billy.
Keeping it simple is complicated.
Definitely a candidate for the Darwin awards.

So we have an extra non-paying tenant in Maleny. I think it's a diamond python. Apparently they are nocturnal, docile and make good pets.
