I couldn't find my glasses the other day and had a panic overnight realising how often I needed them.
Fortunately I found them the next day. They had fallen down beside the seat in the Defender.
I do have an old spare pair, but they are badly scratched.

Well after 3 1/2 years and 150,000km the mighty Hilux had a massive fart and **** the DPF today - much smoke and merriment (embarrassment) ensued as the vehicles behind me almost ran off the road to get out of the way of the smoke screen I created. Straight to Toyota who were great and put me in a courtesy car straight away to keep me on the road, but DPF's for Hiluxes are thin on the ground due to so many being required so often. Mines 3rd in line at my local dealer and won't be available to be fitted until late next week. It is however being covered under the recall they are doing (not that it would cost me) and the vehicle is out of warranty so anyone that owns one can get this repair done for zip at the moment.

So Toyota is recalling Hilux DPFs? Interesting.
What did they loan you to replace it - a Yaris?

Don’t think there’s an actual recall as such, may have misused that phrase - more a ‘we’ll replace it if it fails’ type thing, and yep, had a Yaris today but have the Hilux back now until the new DPF is available - they have done something so it doesn’t drop any smoke bombs at the moment - just smoke now on light throttle openings, under heavy acceleration no problems. Not sure what they did though.

Maybe the "new" Deafener will have a glasses case just like my Mazda?

    You were lucky

If they had fallen down the right hand side of the drivers seat, they may have slid out through the gap at the bottom of the door, and disappeared for good

They are probably fixing them for free to keep everyone happy and quiet.

My good sunglasses did that - actually in my son's car when I was in the passenger seat, and slid out when I opened the door. It was dark and raining, and so not noticed. Found later in the driveway - flat!

    Similar story here John.

S2A, lost flat wallet, looked into car using a small torch nothing seen, next day I opened the door, It had fallen between the seat box end & the door & didn't fall out as it sat on top of the chassis rail.

Couldn't understand how it could have happened with all that wonga in it, it shouldn't have even fitted through the door into the cab.
