Nothing's cast in stone yet, but mulling over the scenic route home (hoping 4bee's going to be good for a coffee), 3 weeks would allow plenty of time to nurse the vehicles. We should consider a meeting with the interested parties.

Appropriate music, if you are considering joining Ian at Wombat. You'll both turn as blue as the Picts.

Only the "Railway Children" one & that takes me back a while. About the same era as "Whistle Down the wind & that featured a very youngish Hayley Mills."

Nope, never have. ED. I see it is on NETFLIX though & it was made up the road from here, well a couple of hundred KM north that is.

Lots of good fillums have been made in SA,( although Overlanders was a Northern Australian fillum )especially up that way inc Breaker Morant to name but one. The Overlanders was one of the early ones post war I recall with Chips Rafferty, Daphne Campbell & a cast of hundreds including 100,000 cattle.

WW2 fillum. Big Cattle drive from Wyndham Meat Works to a rail head to escape the possible Japanese invasion.

!00,000 cattle they used in '46. Do they get mobs that large up there these days?

One about the ANZAC Landings was made over Port Lincoln way around Cliffs & Beaches. No not Cliff's Roadhouse. Of course it was Gallipoli.Gallipoli (1981 film) - Wikipedia

Someone asked do they make the Guiness in Ireland.

When Bernie Powers owned the brewery at Yatala he brewed Guiness under license. I don't know if he bottled/canned it though.

Bernie would have Guiness nights up in the bar, often a Wednesday, all you drink , on the house.

As an aside SWMBO and I went to Coolangatta Hotel for their advertised St Patricks Evening , to celebrate our wedding anniversary which we share with the Irish. Can you believe we couldn't get a Guiness?
They had run out. It was part of their dinner package and they offered me a rotgut IPA instead. We will not go to the Coolangatta hotel again.

Hardly a fair substitute. I would have walked that night. Powers was probably the first beer I ever I had up there yonks ago, courtesy of BiL What attracted me? The labeling.
