I'm weird. But I know this. People have been telling me for years. Anyway, I actually enjoy this cooler weather. I am so over the 40 degree plus 99% humidity days of summer. I am seriously thinking of retiring to somewhere like Scotland. Cool, cloudy days. Green hills. No water shortages. My kind of place...

Mt Gambier region is your place. Not too cold. Plenty of, but not too much, rain. Housing is cheap. Excellent Landrover dealer nearby.
Might I suggest Rendelsham or Beachport.

I've been to Scotland in the dead (I use that word deliberately) of winter. I remember one night up near the Orkneys it snowed and in the morning after breakfast we came out to find the Focus completely buried under a mound of snow, so we dug it out and it wouldn't open because everything was frozen, so we gave up, went back inside for second breakfast, and the sun didn't rise until 10am and only stayed up for 5 hours before disappearing. The guest house operator mentioned that we were north of Moscow! I can see why the Vikings were so hairy (to keep warm).
I think I'd rather be hot than that cold.

I got warm this morning riding the MTB up the Fourth Creek Trail in suburban Adelaide, had to shed a layer down to 3 garments around the chest. 10 degrees is nice exercise weather.

Spent bout a week in the Orkneys in Feb. No tourists , plenty of freindly local to show us about and great nights in the pub. If I were to go back it would be then. Other than that I hate winter. Left Canada to stay (relatively} warm here in Bris. !
