I can't remember the exact time but, in the 50's, a bloke (Let's call him Charlie) who lived in The Hayes Inlet area North of Brissie, returned home from a Northern adventure with a young saltie.
In the 60s, I well remember my father coming home from somewhere or other and stating to my mother 'You know that croc that Charlie has? Well, it's got too big for him so he's got rid of it.'
Years later, when there was a report of a croc sighting in that area, I quizzed my dad about what he meant by 'got rid of it' and he didn't know whether the croc was dispatched or released.![]()
