As kids we made something similar out of (wooden) orange boxes, to catch pidgeons. We never caught any, it may have had something to do with the fact that we only had ten feet of string and less patience.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

We used to do the same with cardboard boxes. We used to have i stick holding up the upside down box, then fishing line tied to the stick, running to a handline.

We actually caught a few birds, but they flew away as soon as we lifted the box.Bloody fast those birds from memory.

    Hey Digger

Why don't you dice the old Lucas generator and fit a 60 amp regulated alternator from a dead Falcon, then you will have 12volt regulated, and 60amp capacity,I have one on my 85 Rangie,or you could go 100amp Magnet-Marelli from a Disco 1 diesel both ex-wreckers or roadside dumpers

    cheers

    G'day uncle!

The thing is more for the fact it fits
In with the series than for actual
Regular battery charging.. So is prefer
To keep the Lucas electrics. Never thought I'd
    Be saying that!!
