Sure the decisions will be quicker, but that may not always be for the better,or make the decision more correct.
No, of course not. Humans are far from infallible so these things only need to be better than the average human to save lives overall. For starters, they won't speed inappropriately, drive while drunk, consume valuable mental resources on texting etc. Then there's the learning rate: a fleet of 1000 learner drivers needs say 5000 man-years to become good drivers, whereas a fleet of 1000 autonomous cars need only experience a situation once and all the vehicles will have the same knowledge downloaded into them. Every new car added to the fleet will have available all the knowledge gained by the rest of the fleet, from day one. There will be no new "learner drivers" once they get smart enough.

Oh, I would love one. Fully autonomous.
I would love to have a kip in the back on a long drive. I'd love to snooze away in the back whilst the trusty steed transports me interstate overnight.

I would've responded with something about a Greyhound Bus, but the old Skinny Dogs don't cover many routes nowadays!

    Bathurst is 1000km.
The first pit stop will be after 400km and will be for an eight hour charge. The next will be a six hour charge before the final spring to the finish although I hear some teams are thinking of doing three pit stops of four hours forty minutes each.
I suspect tactics will play a major role in future Bathursts.

I think Rover's dabbled in this stuff before. Years ago when I had my series 3, from time to time, mainly on Sunday mornings but sometimes in the afternoon, I'd wander out to the front lawn and there it would be. Still got no idea how it got there.
