Dry times and a green drought

There hasn't been much heavy rain for the last six months and the subsoil is dry in most parts of Southern Tasmania.

Any rain now will cause a flurry of grass growth, then will dry out very quick without the moisture in the subsoil to keep it going.

Clearing away any unwanted growth and rubbish is best done now to keep the situation safe for later on during the Summer.

Oh yeah! The jugs on at my place also.

    Tassie fire danger

    Hi Guys,

With the low rainfall over the winter, the warm days forecast, the high winds forecast, and the low humidity, the TFS are now thinking about a Fire Ban.
If anything gets going, life could be frantic. The warmth continues till Tuesday, the BOM says.

We have six firebombers ready to come down and help if needed. I have a feeling we're going to be busy everywhere this year!
