Have a look at the three year construction plan:

Huntingdale seems to be scheduled for 2nd half 2017
East Fremantle, 1st half 2017
Of course this could all change.

We have NBN in Shepparton, go figure.
Personally, I reckon that it is a waste of money. I don't have it, I just have ADSL and it works fine for me, without having to spend 500 trillion of tax payers money

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

The NBN is great and long overdue. One of our places had a copper line that would drop out any time it rained. Both would only get around 1.2 mbps on a good day. Now both have 24 mbps (25 plan).
The NBN fixed Wi-Fi tower that is about 1k from our house has FINALY been fired up. They started building it in 2014.
When I discovered the tower is now working I phoned a well known Telco starting with T to see if we could sign up, we have been with them since forever.
They have offered me 1000gb of data, free local & STD calls, T***** TV & free install of something called an Air Box + all the NBN equipment.
Is this a good or reasonable deal?
Is 1000gb a month enough for 5 kids with tablets, an X-Box game, a Wii U game, our laptop, the TV, my/wives tablets & anything that may be added later?
We currently only have 128gb a month through a 4g Wi-Fi thing that costs a lot more than $99. We severally limit how much this is used, especially by the kids.
Thanks
Jonesfam
BTW Does anybody know of any good apps to keep the kids safe on their Android tablets once we have NBN because they will be less supervised than now.
We get 500 gig a month and have 2 televisions cranking Netflix and Stan every evening, all evening. It's just enough each month, and I mean just. 1000 gig will go a long way if you're not streaming TV 12 hours a day, it will be enough for any amount of your family surfing the net non stop, etc.
Streaming video is the big one - make sure your plan is upgradable if you start to run short, but I doubt it. Telstra give you 3 free top ups each year in case you run over anyway (they do with us anyway) - not that we have the NBN in our area or will be likely to in the next few years but looking at the sort of speeds everyone seems to be getting, I'm not missing out on much. I get a consistent 20MBPS download speed and the streaming video/YouTube never glitches or stops.
EDIT - says he, not quite that fast at the moment, but the test shown below was run wirelessly on my iPad while my Son is streaming Netflix in his room, so not bad. Might see what it is with the computer plugged into an Ethernet cable...
