timed / avg speed rally - what is it called?

What is the name given to the on road rallies (usually run by vintage car / motorcycle clubs) where the competitors have to complete a road course at a set average speed. Points are deducted for being too fast or too slow over the course.
I would like to learn a bit more about them but I have not been able to find anything on the internet about them.

We have done an Endevour Foundation charity rally and they use this type of system. What they do is choose two or three cars for each segment, different for each one, and then average their time and then measure each other car agaist that time.

First rally we did was up at Woodenbong in Northern NSW in our V8 110 County. It was a lot of fun and we were raising money for a disabled ramp on the local golf club in this small community. We ended up winning our section which was the 4wds - there was about six I think.

Many CAMS car clubs Regularity events. I think the the North Eastern car Club based in Wangaratta run some.

But the Historic Rally Association would be the best chance.
Most of the Targa even events run a regularity section, including Targa Tasmania.

My username gives a hint to what I do for one of my hobbies.

I'd hate to think how many kays I've sat in the left seat and corrected the other guy,, thousands?
not many for average speed though,

I know MG owners are quite um, pedantic ? about instructions and results,,,
