    Population

Just saw on the news Aus population will hit 24m on Tuesday, and is increasing by 1 person every 91 seconds. Their view was it was a fantastic thing.

Must admit I'm not sold on the endless growth is good story, be it population, GDP etc.

Bet I can guess where the extra people are heading, and I wot be guessing remote.

    I share your sentiments.
Glad I don't live in the greater Melbourne area. Ming you, there are lots of houses going up around here.

Almost every problem you can point to is either directly due to increasing population or substantially contributed to by it. And this applies whether you look at your locality, your state, the country, or the world!

    Too true.
Different countries control the growth in different ways.
Some just send then somewhere else.
Some countries blindly accept them and add to their own problems.

It would be interesting to see what plans and outcomes would result in a slowing or reduced population locally to globally.

China demonstrated that there is a downside to slowing population growth with a one child policy.

The defining or limiting factor to all of it will be water.

Everything , nothing is exempt , is dependant on water.

Every time a human is born , it increases the number of times a toilet is flushed and on it goes.

At some stage soon we must reach a critical situation in the balance of water:life.

Water is not lost just because it was used to flush a toilet.

In many cities around the world people have been drinking recycled water with no ill effects for decades. Some of that recycled water would have previously been used to flush a toilet.
